Tottenham Hotspur fans were left bewitched by Hakim Ziyech’s performance for Ajax against Chelsea.
Ziyech scored one goal and provided two assists in a stunning attacking display away from home.
Spurs saw first hand just how good Ziyech is in the Champions League semi-finals last season.
Ziyech remained at Ajax in the summer, but just last week Rafael van der Vaart told Dutch outlet Voetbal Primeur that he has texted Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and told him to sign him.
Last night had Spurs fans hoping Levy actually checks his messages.
Ziyech ran the show at Stamford Bridge until he was taken off as Ajax looked to protect their lead after being reduced to nine men.
He managed 57 touches in 71 minutes and caused Chelsea no end of problems from a central attacking role and from his set piece delivery.
Spurs need a playmaker like this with Christian Eriken’s performances on the wane.
