Erik Lamela wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments from Erik Lamela.
Lamela, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, recently said that he wants to remain at Tottenham, with his current contract at the North London club running out in the summer of 2019.
“I’m happy at Tottenham,” the 25-year-old told The Guardian. “If not, I would have left. I feel a part of the club, I’m at home here. I am not thinking about how long is left on my contract.”
Lamela has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Italian club AS Roma for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £25.7 million.
The 25-year-old has had injury concerns at Spurs, but when fit, the Argentine has mostly played well and has showcased his quality.
A skilful player who can get past opposition defenders and can also pick teammates with superb passes, Lamela is only 25 years of age, and the former River Plate star can only improve playing under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
