Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Erik Lamela against Aston Villa.
Lamela, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, was in action for Tottenham in their Premier League game against Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening.
The 27-year-old Argentina international started the match and played for 88 minutes, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side won 3-1.
Although the former River Plate and AS Roma star showed some good touches and played a few decent passes, his overall performance left much to be desired.
According to WhoScored, the Argentine attacker took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 87.2%, made three tackle, and played two key passes.
Tottenham fans were not impressed with the display produced by Lamela and have criticised him on Twitter.

Hard-fought win
Villa were always going to make it tough for Tottenham in North London, and Spurs did have to work hard for the win.
John McGinn gave the Villans the lead as early as the ninth minute, and it took Spurs until the 73rd minute to restore parity through Tanguy Ndombele.
Star striker Harry Kane scored his first in the 86th minute and added a second on 89 minutes, as Spurs won 3-1.
