Dier featured for Tottenham in the Premier League game against City away from home at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 25-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, started the match and played for 61 minutes, as Pep Guardiola’s side won 1-0.
The England international did not have a good game, as the former Sporting Lisbon star struggled with the pace and failed to impose himself.
According to WhoScored, Dier took one shot which was not on target, had a pass accuracy of 85.7%, won one header, took 47 touches, and made two interceptions and two clearances.
The defeat to City means that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United will now be looking to catch Tottenham and finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Tottenham fans were not impressed with the display produced by Dier against City and have criticised the England international on Twitter.
