Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose is likely to start in midweek against Manchester City.

Danny Rose of Tottenham looks dejected during the Premier League match between Fulham FC and Tottenham Hotspur at Craven Cottage on January 20, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are divided over whether they should attack Manchester City on Wednesday evening.

Tottenham head into the second leg of their Champions League tie next week protecting a 1-0 lead.

But Danny Rose has suggested to the Independent that Mauricio Pochettino is of the view that attack is the best form of defence.

He said: “It is not in the manager’s DNA to sit back and soak up pressure and hit teams on the counter. That is not his game. He wants us to show our identity from the first minute, and it will be the same [on Wednesday]. We will go there to try and win. That will be the plan.”

Spurs fans have mixed views on whether the ploy is a clever one though.

While some Tottenham fans are happy that their team are going to look to play on the front foot, others are more concerned.

City can hurt teams that come to press, especially at the Etihad Stadium, and there are some Tottenham supporters who would prefer a more cautious approach.

Tottenham have a match against Huddersfield Town to be concerned with tomorrow first, before they concentrate on making it through against City.
