Tottenham Hotspur fans have been dealt a slice of good news after Harry Kane’s injury was not announced to be as bad as first feared.

He will still miss the international break and Tottenham’s FA Cup clash with Swansea City, and further fixtures possible too.

Tottenham officially said Kane will likely return to training ‘next month’, but makes no further guarantees.

The Mirror had reported a day earlier that Kane is expected to return for May and play the final three league games of the season and potentially the FA Cup final if Tottenham reach it without him.

Considering there had been early fears Kane’s ankle ligament injury could have been serious enough to rule him out of this summer’s World Cup, this is not an entirely terrible scenario for Spurs.

Tottenham coped well in the two periods he missed last season, and if there is a time for him to get injured, then missing a meaningless international break is good.
