Tottenham Hotspur will see Jan Vertonghen leave the club this summer, and Juan Foyth may also move on.
That would leave Jose Mourinho two centre backs down, and needing to bring in new options. A number of players have already been linked despite confusion over when the summer window will begin.
One name being touted is Stade de Reims ace Axel Disasi. The 22-year-old has starred for an impressive Reims side this season, and is attracting major interest.
RMC Sport note that Arsenal and Spurs are fighting for Disasi, with a €15million (£13million) price on his head. Southampton are also thought to be in the race.
There is allegedly real optimism that a deal will be done, despite no offers reaching Reims’ asking price so far. This may simply be some brinkmanship, attempting to drive the price down.
Disasi is a big and strong defender who can not only dominate attackers, but he has also shown the ability to play out from the back.

He may not be a big name, but Disasi has potential and comes with a reasonable price tag, with Spurs fans now taking to Twitter to react to the speculation.
Some believe that Disasi isn’t quite what Spurs need right now, with left-footed options like Nathan Ake or Malang Sarr preferred as Vertonghen replacements. One
Others think Disasi is ‘very good’ and ‘quality’, believing that he is worth a punt given his price tag and his potential.
