Wolverhampton Wanderers denied Manchester United the chance to leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League’s top-four on Tuesday night.

Many Tottenham fans on Twitter lauded Wolves after they beat Manchester United 2-1 on Tuesday night in what was big result in the race to finish in the Champions League places.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could have pushed Spurs outside of the top-four with a point or a win, but they ended up suffering another defeat against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The Midlands outfit, who knocked United out of the FA Cup last month, found themselves a goal down after 13 minutes when Scott McTominay’s low drive was too good for Rui Patrício in goal.
But 12 minutes later, Wolves fought back when Diego Jota fired home from close range before a Chris Smalling own goal late into the second half sealed the points for the home team.
Spurs fans on Twitter credited Wolves for their performance, not just on the night, but throughout this campaign as they were grateful for the favour.

After that helping hand from Wolves, Pochettino’s side now need to do their own job and pick up all three points against Crystal Palace in their new stadium.
Despite four defeats in their previous five league matches, Spurs are still in the driving seat to secure another season in the Champions League places.
