Tottenham Hotspur have already made three signings this summer, bringing in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty.
Jose Mourinho will still be in the market for other additions before the October transfer deadline, with a striker surely a priority.
On Saturday, a new rumour emerged, and it was surrounding a new midfielder rather than another striker.
The Mirror report that Tottenham are keen on Watford’s Will Hughes, and Jose Mourinho wants to launch a move for him.
Hughes is allegedly valued at around £13million after Watford’s relegation, and he could be given an immediate return to the Premier League with Spurs.
The 25-year-old is a versatile performer in midfield, offering great work rate whether played centrally or out wide – and that mentality will likely appeal to Mourinho.

Hughes is also homegrown, which is vital for Tottenham’s squad registration given a lack of homegrown options at Mourinho’s disposal.
Fans seem a little split, with some believing that Hughes is ‘ordinary’ and ‘very average’, believing that Tottenham need to be aiming higher.
Others thinks that Hughes is an interesting target and would offer more in midfield than Erik Lamela does, even if Spurs are a few years too late in moving for him.
