Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the latest injury news on Toby Alderweireld.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been quoted as saying by The Times that Alderweireld could be out of action until Christmas at least.

The Belgium international defender suffered a hamstring injury against Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this month.

“We need to assess him but we expect him to be out longer than we thought when it happened,” Pochettino told The Times. “Maybe he will be back after Christmas. That’s the expectation – but it may be longer.”

Alderweireld is one of the best defenders in the Premier League and is a world-class footballer.
