Long has scored 14 goals for Southampton this past season, and his form towards the end of the campaign was highly impressive.
The Republic of Ireland international has now reportedly emerged on Tottenham’s list of targets, as they look to help take the goalscoring burden off Harry Kane.
Kane is currently Tottenham’s only recognised out and out striker in their senior squad, and signing a new forward has become Pochettino’s priority this summer.
And if the Lilywhites do manage to get hold of Long it seems that the move won’t go down too well with the White Hart Lane fan base.
