Mahrez was selected to start for Leicester yesterday, but was part of a Foxes team who were overawed by Spurs.
Tottenham won 6-1 at the King Power Stadium, and they managed to put in a stunning performance.
Harry Kane netted four times, with Heung Min-Son scoring twice – in a highly impressive triumph.
Mahrez caught some Spurs fans’ eyes, despite the heavy defeat, but others were less impressed.
Tottenham are believed to be interested in signing Mahrez in the summer transfer window, with Mauricio Pochettino having identified the Algerian as a potential addition (Telegraph).
Mahrez is apparently hoping to play for a side in the Champions League, and Spurs could offer him that.
