Rafael van der Vaart has been celebrated by Tottenham Hotspur supporters after his latest tweet.

Van Der Vaart made his Spurs debut eight years ago to the day, and he is still fondly remembered by fans of the Lilywhites.

The Dutch attacking midfielder posted on Twitter that he quickly fell in love with Spurs during his time at the club.

And Spurs fans were quick to suggest that they felt the same towards him.

Van Der Vaart only spent two years at Tottenham before he was offloaded to Hamburg.

During his time with Spurs, the Dutchman made 77 appearances and scored 28 goals.

Since leaving Tottenham, Van Der Vaart has gone on to play for a host of different sides, including Real Betis and Midtjylland.

Van der Vaart is now at Esbjerg in Denmark, and at 35 seems to be reaching the twilight of his career.
