Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp made his long awaited Premier League debut last night.

Skipp came on as an 87th minute substitute, with Spurs already having wrapped up the win.

The 17-year-old impressed in pre-season, holding his own in exhibition matches against Europe’s elite teams.

He has been named on the bench in the Champions League already this season, and this was the chance he had been waiting for.

Skipp had only a brief chance to impress, but he showed glimpses of promise.

Mauricio Pochettino left some fans wondering why he did not bring Skipp on earlier. The midfielder certainly left supporters wanting more.

This is just a case of Pochettino easing him in, and not necessarily a sign Skipp will feature much over the next month.

The midfielder has a very bright future. If his teammates rack up a few more easy wins, then more chances off the bench may follow.
