Moussa Sissoko started for Tottenham against Bayer Leverkusen.

Moussa Sissoko had a game to forget for Tottenham Hotspur last night in their Champions League clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The French international at one stage in the second half had a pass completion rate of just 55 per cent, and struggled to get on the same page as his teammates.

Not many, if any, Tottenham players covered themselves in glory in the fixture, their second group game at Wembley, but Sissoko was arguably the very worst.

Their case was not helped by Mousa Dembele going off injured after half an hour, with Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane also out injured, with Danny Rose also a substitute.

Sissoko was a summer signing and is yet to really establish himself at the club, but these Champions League nights were meant for him to make an impact – a positive one.

He was criticised by BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand on air as ‘awful’ at half-time, and did not improve in the second half.

With the club’s form poor in recent weeks, supporters were in no mood to forgive Sissoko’s sub-standard display.
