Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Mousa Dembele commented on his future with Mauricio Pochettino’s side earlier today.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are starting to come to terms with suggestions that Mousa Dembele could leave them this summer.

Dembele’s future at Spurs was speculated about early on in the year, but initially concerns were minimal.

The Belgian was playing a key role in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team and was enjoying some of his best form in a Tottenham shirt.

However, the rumours that Dembele, who has just one year left on his 80,000-a-week contract (Daily Star), could leave Tottenham this summer have only grown stronger.

And the 30-year-old’s latest comments seem to suggest that a departure is very much a possibility in the near future.

He said to HLN: “I won’t say that I’m leaving Spurs right now. Or that I’m staying. If I leave, I won’t join another English club. Tottenham is my team.”

While Tottenham fans admire Dembele’s loyalty in not joining another English club, there is a widespread feeling of disappointment that he could leave.

Dembele was Spurs’ best central midfielder over the past campaign, and replacing a player of his quality will be a major test for Pochettino’s side.

Dembele has been linked with a move to China and Italy, if he does depart Tottenham in the coming weeks.
