Leicester City announced yesterday the signing of Harry Maguire from Hull City.
Maguire signed from the relegated Tigers for £17 million, a hefty fee for a player from a relegated club with one year remaining on his contract.

Despite the price tag, Maguire is a very promising defender who has potential to go on and win senior England honours.
The 23-year-old performed well in a tough spot last season and had numerous teams following his interest.
Bookies SkyBet had Tottenham Hotspur as favourites for his signature prior to Leicester’s move, with The Sun reporting they were leading Newcastle in the race for his signature.

Evening Standard reporter Tom Collomosse reported that Tottenham’s interest was genuine but the financial aspects of the deal saw them back off.
Spurs are yet to make any signings this transfer window, and while Maguire evidently wasn’t a priority, fans have been left wondering when they will make their move.
Maguire is another possibility off the table with wingers Wilfried Zaha and Bruma already committing their futures elsewhere.
