Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have expressed their surprise at Mauricio Pochettino being nominated for Manager of the Season award.

The Premier League confirmed on their official website that Pochettino, along with Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, have been nominated for the main managerial prize.

Despite not signing a single player for two transfer windows, Spurs have all but secured their top-four status for next season and are one game away from the final of the Champion League.

Following Wolves’ promotion from the Championship, Nuno has guided his team to a top-seven finish and the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The final two managers are still locking horns for the Premier League title. At his moment in time, City lead Champions League finalists Liverpool by one point as they both head into the final day of the season.

But it is fair to say that some Spurs fans felt that Pochettino deserves recognition, whilst others were left perplexed and admitted that their collapse since the turn of the year doesn’t warrant him being nominated.

Here is a selection of Tottenham fans on Twitter reacting to Pochettino’s nomination:

Aside from the Premier League’s top two, the other teams in the top-six have continually shown signs of inconsistency, particularly during these recent months were no-one seemingly wanted to finish in the top-four.

However, after moving into their new stadium, Pochettino has guaranteed that his team will be playing Champions League football next term.
