Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Luke Shaw this week.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United could try to tempt Danny Rose to Old Trafford in January by offering Luke Shaw plus cash to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old’s future at Tottenham was plunged into doubt last month after giving an explosive interview in which he criticised a number of different things about Spurs.

The England international, who is currently injured, did not get a move away during the summer transfer window but it remains to be seen how manager Mauricio Pochettino reacts to the interview when he regains fitness.

And if rumours are to be believed, the Red Devils will offer Luke Shaw in a player-plus-cash deal for Rose, who joined Tottenham in 2007, but Lilywhites fans aren’t having it.

The 22-year-old’s development has been somewhat stifled by a leg break nearly two years ago and it remains to be seen whether Shaw – who played under Pochettino at Southampton – can regain his best form.

Having said that, Tottenham fans on Twitter would be far more receptive to letting Rose join Mourinho’s side if attacker Anthony Martial was to also come the other way.

Martial certainly has the talent to add something to Spurs’ attack but whether Mourinho lets the 21-year-old – who has two goals in three Premier League games this season – leave is another thing.

He looks like being a big player for them this season.
