It was not a happy Manchester City home debut for Kyle Walker.

The right-back looked infuriated as he was ushered from the field amid protests from his Manchester City teammates towards the referee.

He did not even make it through the first half, being sent off after 41 minutes with his side 1-0 down to a Wayne Rooney strike.

Walker left Tottenham in the summer for £54 million, a fee which saw plenty of debate from fans and pundits alike on whether it was value for money.

The right-back made clear he was determined to join City so he could go and win trophies, potentially at Tottenham’s expense, believing he was unable to do so in North London, BBC Sport reported.

While Walker was a popular player at Spurs, that is swiftly becoming forgotten.
