Tottenham Hotspur ended the international transfer window without signing a centre back – but they’re still in the market for one.
Spurs handed Jose Mourinho two new full backs in Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon, a combative midfielder in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, attacking reinforcements in Gareth Bale and Carlos Vinicius as well as a backup goalkeeper in Joe Hart.
Key areas have been bolstered, but Spurs still need a centre back after losing Jan Vertonghen on a free transfer over the summer.
Now, Sky Sports report that Tottenham are pursuing a deal for Joe Rodon, with discussions ongoing over a fee between £7million and £18million.
No deal went through before the international deadline, but Spurs still have more than a week to get a deal done given that the domestic window only closes on October 16th.
Rodon, 22, impressed under Steve Cooper last season, both in terms of being a physically-dominant centre back at 6ft 4in tall and being able to play out from the back.

The Welsh international looks to be a real talent for the future, and Tottenham fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours.
Some think that Rodon has the potential to be even better than another defensive target in Milan Skriniar, believing that he will be ‘class’ moving forward.
Others believe he is ‘very good’ and ‘a star of the future’, with Welsh Spurs fans desperate to see him join Tottenham as he is ‘excellent’.
