Tottenham Hotspur ace faces spell on the sidelines.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has suffered a cruel blow with the news he will miss up to three months of action.
SkySports report Vertonghen has suffered ankle ligament damage, and will be out for 10 to 12 weeks.

The centre-back is a key part of Tottenham’s starting XI, as one half of a terrific central defensive partnership alongside Belgian international teammate Toby Alderweireld.
The blow is especially disappointing as Vertonghen suffered a similar injury this time last season, also missing three weeks.
Spurs should be more confident this time around, due to the way Austrian defender Kevin Wimmer stepped up last season, and created genuine debate as to who should be the starter even when Vertonghen returned.

Fans should also feel positive with the recent developments which have seen Ben Davies play more as a central defender.
Youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers has also stepped up to play a first team role this season, while Eric Dier has also been filling in at the back, with midfield reinforcements meaning Tottenham can afford to take him out of his preferred position.
Tottenham do need to be careful with Toby Alderweireld though, as despite their back-up options, they are only considered good alternatives because they have the Belgian to play alongside. Lose him, and then it is time to worry.
