Tottenham Hotspur have issued an update on the fitness of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Both players sustained injuries in the Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester City.

Tottenham’s update did not provide clear cut answers, but it does offer an indication of both players’ status.

Kane is said to have suffered a ‘significant lateral ligament injury to his left ankle’.

Further tests are to be undertaken over the next week.

There is a risk Kane does not play again this season.

He fractured his hand against City but there is still a chance he could feature, even against Huddersfield on Saturday.

The club website said he will undergo further assessment by the medical team.
