Winks missed Tottenham’s pre-season tour after undergoing an operation on his ankle.
Clearly getting back involved in first team training is a big positive for the player, even if a role this weekend against Fulham is unlikely.
Boyhood Spurs fans Winks was so impressive early last season and established himself as a regular for Tottenham and in the England side.
An injury late last year wrecked his progress and cost him a spot in the World Cup squad.
Winks is understandably eager to make up for lost time, but Spurs are right to tread cautiously.
Fans are delighted he is back and hope it will not be long before he makes his long awaited return.
