Argentine defender Federico Fazio had such a terrible time at Tottenham Hotspur that fans were glad to see the back of him.
To Fazio’s credit he has rebuilt his career and last night lined up for Roma in the Champions League semi-final.
The centre-back hoped to prove Spurs wrong on his return to England, but instead his performance against Liverpool appeared to re-assure supporters that the North London club made the right decision.
Fazio’s Roma were taken apart by Liverpool and conceded five goals at Anfield.
The centre-back struggled to keep track of Liverpool’s front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah and was booked for his troubles late on.
Fazio will have a chance at redemption in the second leg when Roma try to overturn their 5-2 advantage, but Spurs fans felt like they had seen enough already to know that the defender is still the same player he was in North London.
