Tottenham Hotspur’s players overcame a nervous start at Old Trafford to produce a dominant performance.
Spurs recorded a 3-0 win over Manchester United with every Tottenham player doing themselves proud.
Eric Dier was among those who started slowly, before really becoming effective in the second half.
Dier was used in midfield to shield the defence and once Tottenham had taken the lead, United could not find a way past them.
The England midfielder was limited in terms of what he could offer going forward and was wasteful, completing only 66 per cent of his passes.
Despite this as the game went on, Dier did his job effectively and was a key cog in Tottenham’s win as he managed to frustrate United by being in the right place at the right time, completing all 90 minutes.
Dier has now started all three of Tottenham’s games this season and they have won all of them.
There is a lot of competition for his spot when everybody is fit, while he can be limited in terms of what he can offer, it is tough to argue with results.
