And there is a feeling around Tottenham that Dzeko could be ideal as a short term fix.
Tottenham are yet to make a signing in January, and Dzeko’s arrival would go slightly against their usual transfer policy.
Spurs try to bring in youth, in the main, rather than veteran players like Dzeko.
However, they would do well to find another player of Dzeko’s calibre and experience available this month.
Dzeko’s past spell in English football came with Manchester City, where he was very successful.
