Spurs are said to be considering making a £35 million bid for Dakonam by Foot Mercato, as they look to finally complete their first summer signing.
However, Dakonam’s reputation in England is not yet developed.
The centre-back is hardly a household name, and his addition would not scream ambition.
And Tottenham fans do not appear particularly keen on seeing Dakonam signed up this summer.
Despite not being particularly well known, Dakonam impressed in his debut season in La Liga last term.
The 26-year-old was a key part of Getafe’s defence, and his performances caught the eye.
Spurs are in the market for a centre-back, as Toby Alderweireld could leave.
