Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose made his Champions League return last night.

Danny Rose salvaged his reputation for Tottenham last night by playing a key role in the club’s comeback against Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham were 1-0 down at half-time to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang strike, with the Gabon striker a yard ahead of Rose when he netted.

Rose was making a return to the side after being left out of the North London derby at the weekend, a game Spurs lost 2-0.
Early on against Dortmund, Rose was poor, and made a laughable attempt at a shoulder pass which made him look more interesting in showboating than keeping possession. It was not a good look for a player recently dropped from the side.
At half-time, the picture looked bleak for Rose, with fans taking to Twitter to question Rose’s ability, attitude, and future at the club.
Fortunately for Danny Rose there was better to come.
He played a key role in Tottenham’s equaliser, which was of course scored by Harry Kane, netting his sixth of the Champions League campaign.
Rose won the ball back, sparking a counter attack, feeding the ball forward to Dele Alli who went on to supply Kane.
It was just a small moment, but a glimmer of Rose at his form early last season.
Clearly it will not come instantly, and he did not help his cause with his pre-season interview which split fans opinion of him, but after his role in Tottenham’s equaliser the reaction was all positive.
Mauricio Pochettino could easily have substituted Rose at half-time, and the England defender will be glad he did not.
Rose may just have saved his Spurs career in the second half.
