Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left concerned after watching Alfie Mawson’s performance for Swansea City last night.
Mawson has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, as Toby Alderweireld’s potential replacement.
The Daily Express claim that Tottenham are lining up a £40 million bid for the Swansea centre-back.
However, Mawson’s performance failed to impress the Spurs fans who were watching on.
Swansea were beaten 1-0 by Southampton last night, as they were plunged into further relegation trouble.
Swansea could be condemned to playing Championship football next season this evening, if Huddersfield Town avoid defeat against Chelsea.
Even if Huddersfield do lose, Swansea will have to win on the final day to stand a chance of staying up.
If the Swans do drop into the Championship, then Mawson is almost certain to depart, with Tottenham thought to be one of the defender’s most likely destinations.
