Tottenham Hotspur’s forgotten man made a long awaited return.

Tottenham Hotspur’s forgotten striker Vincent Janssen’s return from injury ended up being a very low key affair.
He was named in the starting line up as Spurs’ under-23 side took on Liverpool.
Janssen signed at Spurs in 2016 with high hopes, only to struggle to make an impact and being sent on loan to Fenerbahce.
The Dutch international has struggled with injury for most of 2018 and last night’s under-23 game marked his first appearance of the season at any level.
Just seeing his name on the team sheet had some Spurs fans stunned.
The match itself was against Liverpool’s under-23s and took place at Stevenage.
Janssen only lasted 45 minutes before being withdrawn, with the game at 0-0.
It was unclear if the substitution was pre-planned, or a reaction to an uneventful first half.

Janssen’s return was shortly overshadowed by a goal from 20-year-old Tottenham forward Kazaiah Sterling.
His 48th minute goal gave Spurs the lead, in a game they ended up drawing 1-1.
This was Sterling’s third goal at under-23 level in five games this season.
Tottenham fans were delighted to see him grasp his chance to impress…
