Tottenham Hotspur fans hit back at Frank Lampard’s criticism of Dele Alli.
Pundit Frank Lampard had a dig at Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli after the club’s FA Cup semi-final defeat.
Spurs lost 2-1 to to Manchester United, giving up an early lead after Alli put Spurs ahead from close range after just 11 minutes.
Tottenham fans at Wembley went wild after the opening goal went in, with Alli leading the celebrations.
According to Lampard however, it was all too much.
The former Chelsea midfielder told BT Sport that Alli made a mistake by celebrating too early.
Spurs went on to lose the game 2-1, confirming another trophyless season.
Supporters were not impressed with Lampard’s comments, believing that criticising his celebration was uncalled for, and just another reason to have a moan at Dele Alli.
Fans quickly pointed out that this was a FA Cup semi-final, one of the biggest games of Alli’s career.
He is known to be an emotional player and this came across with his post-game interview, so why should he hold back after scoring?
