Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has reportedly demanded a big contract to stay with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

The Belgian defender is reportedly demanding £150,000-a-week to sign a new deal with Spurs, and the North London club will not pay those demands.
As a result, Spurs are said to be willing to cash in on the centre-back next summer, as he only has one year remaining on his contract.

The Times claim, on page 67 of their printed edition, that Pochettino has agreed to sell Alderweireld, with his future up in the air.
And Spurs fans have been left fuming by the latest developments, with many accusing Daniel Levy of showing a lack of ambition.
Alderweireld has proven to be one of Tottenham’s main centre-backs this season, and has developed a reputation as one of the Premier League’s best defenders.
If the Belgian was to leave, he would be extremely difficult for Pochettino’s side to replace.
Alderweireld has been out for much of this season with injury, and is still not at full fitness yet.
