Barella has reportedly caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino this season, through his performances for Cagliari.
Tottenham are now said to be considering a £35 million bid for the midfielder.
And Spurs fans would be happy to have Barella on board, judging by the initial reaction on social media website Twitter.
Tottenham are thought to be looking for additions in central midfield in the January transfer window.
Pochettino wants to upgrade his options, as he wasn’t able to over the summer.
Spurs failed to make one signing in the previous transfer window, which means that they should have money to spend in the new year.
Barella has made 12 appearances in Serie A so far this season, scoring on one occasion.
