Fernando Llorente has told the Daily Mirror that he will need time before showing his best at Tottenham Hotspur, and supporters of the North London club need to make sure the Spaniard gets his wish.

Patience is a dying quality in modern day football, with instant success now becoming a demand.

But Spurs fans need to give Llorente all the support he needs to make an impact, following his £15 million move from Swansea, as valued by The Sun.

Tottenham supporters were brilliantly supportive of Roberto Soldado, despite his struggles, and Vincent Janssen also enjoyed a great amount of backing while he was failing to score last term.

And Spurs fans may need to have similar levels of patience with Llorente, if they are to see the best of the target-man.

Llorente’s initial showings for Spurs have not been the most encouraging, but he is a proven scorer across Europe.

Fernando Llorente of Tottenham Hotspur comes on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City at Wembley Stadium on September 16, 2017 in London, England.

Llorente is still sharpening up, after missing pre-season, but he has shown during his time at Swansea City that he can be a major threat at Premier League level.

And if Spurs fans get behind Llorente in the same way that they have Janssen and Soldado in prior years, then there should be a confidence that the former Juventus man will come good before the end of the season.
