Real Madrid have reportedly backed off Harry Kane.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have laughed off reports Real Madrid do not feel Harry Kane is the right striker to lead the line at the Bernabeu.
Spurs fans are desperate to hang onto talisman Kane at all costs and the latest reports are good news for them, but it was the reasoning behind Real’s decision which caused amusement.
Real are focusing on Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski instead, an equally prolific forward, and do not feel Kane is a strong enough personality to lead the line.
Spanish newspaper AS reports Real fear Kane is ‘too introverted’, and have fears over whether he could adapt to the big attention which would come with the move.
This could all be immaterial anyway, with Tottenham holding no intention of cashing in.
Kane has also pledged his commitment to Spurs on multiple occasions, recently professing his desire to lead the club out in their new stadium next season, via The Telegraph.
Real’s reasoning smacks of a spurned suitor, rationalising their own reason for rejecting a player who had already turned them down.
