Tottenham fans react to Juventus loss.
Juventus revelled in their win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League last 16, celebrating as their experience helped them defeat the Premier League challengers.
Last night they came up against a better team, as Real Madrid beat them 3-0 in Turin to effectively seal a semi-final place.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s wondergoal inspired Real’s victory and continued his unstoppable goalscoring form.
He exposed Juventus’ defence, and left veterans Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini with no answer.
Tottenham fans were delighted to see Juventus come up short, especially after Chiellini’s comments criticising them in the past round.
Quoted by The Guardian after the win over Spurs at Wembley, Chiellini said: “It’s the history of Tottenham. They always create many chances and score so much but, in the end, they miss always something to arrive at the end. We believe in history.”
Last night Juventus’ poor recent history against Real Madrid came back to bit them.
After losing 4-1 in the Champions League final last season, a 3-0 home loss was tough to take.
It will take a miracle for them to turn around the second leg and reach the last four…
