Tottenham Hotspur only let Kieran Trippier leave for Atletico Madrid in 2019, but he is now being linked with a return to North London.

A few players over the years have left Tottenham but ended up coming back.

Gareth Bale is the most recent case, but fans will also remember Robbie Keane, Teddy Sheringham, Jermain Defoe and even Younes Kaboul leaving and returning.

That’s what could now happen with Trippier too.

90Min claim that Tottenham have made a first move to re-sign Trippier by asking about his availability.

Newcastle United have been favourites for Trippier, but Tottenham are now in the running.

Tottenham signed a right back over the summer as Emerson Royal joined, but he hasn’t quite hit top form yet and Trippier could rival him.

Trippier spent four years with Tottenham between 2015 and 2019. After signing from Burnley, he made 114 appearances for Tottenham before joining Atletico.

Tottenham fans want Trippier back

Tottenham supporters have seen the Trippier rumours – and many want him back.

Some feel Trippier would be ‘perfect’ for Antonio Conte’s style of play.

Others think Trippier is ideal to support Emerson as he adjusts to life in the Premier League.

Letting Trippier go in the first place seemingly annoyed some, and Tottenham fans would love to see him return.
