Tony Adams claimed Tottenham’s players would be England’s weak link. It proved anything but.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane delivered for England when the Three Lions needed him most last night.
His last minute winner against Tunisia got England’s World Cup campaign off to a victorious start, lifting the confidence of an inexperienced side.
Kane and his Spurs teammates had been questioned ahead of the tournament by Tony Adams, who picked them out as England’s biggest weakness.

After one game it has shown to be anything but, with Tottenham’s Kane showing up as England’s biggest strength.
Former Arsenal double winning captain Adams told The Sun: “I’m really worried about these Tottenham players, I don’t think they know how to win.
“They’re very good players but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up — there’s a psyche players must have.”

Kane stepped up at a crucial moment last night and Tottenham fans have not let Adams off the hook for his comments.
Spurs supporters messaged Adams on social media asking him to retract his remarks.
Here is a look at some of the clean ones we can publish, with ex-Tottenham midfielder Micky Hazard leading the way.
