Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to urge Kevin Wimmer to remain at the club.

Wimmer joined Tottenham from FC Koln in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £4.3 million.

The 24-year-old central defender arrived at White Hart Lane with a strong reputation, but the Austria international has struggled for playing time.

Over the past two seasons, the centre-back has been able to make only 13 starts in the Premier League for Spurs.

According to The Sun, the North London outfit are willing to sell Wimmer, but only for £20m. The Mirror has credited Premier League rivals Southampton with interest in the defender, but it has been claimed that the Saints will negotiate and try to bring the price down.

Wimmer has taken to Twitter to suggest that he cannot wait for the 2017-18 campaign to start, with Tottenham fans responding to his message and urging him to stay.
