Tottenham midfielder excelled in his half an hour.
Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks was a second half substitute as the team eased to a 4-1 win over Watford.
Winks replaced the outstanding Dele Alli, who had bagged a brace and hit the woodwork before being withdrawn, with head coach Mauricio Pochettino keeping one eye on the midweek clash with rivals and league leaders Chelsea.
Tottenham’s Dele Alli in action
Winks did not offer the same goal threat for Tottenham but his typically assured performance ensured there was no drop off in his team’s control of the game.
The 20-year-old has been this season’s breakthrough star for Spurs, and has a big part to play in 2017.
Against Watford he completed 90 per cent of his passes, and showed why Mauricio Pochettino has chosen him on a repeated basis to feature in the first team over the past two months.
