Tottenham Hotspur won 2-0 against Watford last night, with Erik Lamela coming on as a late substitute.

Tottenham Hotspur fans appear to be giving up on Erik Lamela ever fulfilling his potential with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Lamela came off the substitute’s bench during Spurs’ 2-0 win over Watford last night and his cameo did little to impress.

Lamela was guilty of holding on to possession for too long on multiple occasions, as he looked to dribble at the Watford defence.

And it seems that a great deal of Tottenham fans are now hoping Lamela is sold in the summer.

The £26 million signing from Roma missed much of the early part of the season with injury, and he has been used in a rotational role since returning.

The Argentine winger has made a big impact off the bench in some matches, but still has been unable to hold down a starting place in Pochettino’s line-up.

Pochettino is certainly a major fan of Lamela, with the winger offering a lot of defensive quality from the front.

However, with Lucas Moura’s arrival in January, and more attackers set to arrive in the summer, Lamela’s future at Spurs could come into question at the end of the season.
