Danny Rose has sparked fury among Tottenham Hotspur fans again, with his latest comments.

Rose told the Telegraph that he wants to help Tottenham out, but he seemed insistent on stressing his aims were for ‘this season’.

He said: “I’ve said in most interviews I’ve done this season that I want to contribute to Tottenham winning something this season. Nothing’s changed.

“Everyone just needs to understand that me and the manager want the same thing for this season – we want to win something. So I’m on the same page, I’m fully focused on playing as many games as I can for Tottenham, contributing to something beautiful, successful this season.”

Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on November 5, 2017 in London, England.

And Tottenham fans have doubted that the short-term nature of Rose’s aims is a coincidence.

Rose stated last summer that he was underpaid by Tottenham, and that a move elsewhere would have appealed.

At the time the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea were linked with Rose, and it seemed the the interest turned the defender’s head.

Rose did apologise for that statement, and Spurs have kept hold of the England international since.

However, Spurs fans are still suspicious over whether Rose is fully committed to their side now.

Mauricio Pochettino has been cautious with using Rose this season, after his injury problems.

The left-back has played just four times across all competitions, but he did impress on his latest display against Borussia Dortmund.
