Tottenham Hotspur fans are annoyed that they have not moved for Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal for the AC Milan forward on loan, and Spurs fans think he could have been ideal for them right now.

Tottenham are without both Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane for the next few weeks, with the former away on international duty and the latter injured.

And Tottenham fans are looking on at their London rivals with some envy that they have been able to bring in a striker of Higuain’s quality.

Higuain would likely have only been a short-term fix for Tottenham if he had arrived, but that could actually have benefitted Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Tottenham’s options up-front are only set to be short for a matter of weeks, so a loan deal could have suited all parties.

Spurs, instead, are seemingly looking elsewhere – with the identity of their main strike target still not known.

The Telegraph claim that Pochettino has been given £50 million to spend this month, but whether Tottenham will actually make an addition remains to be seen.
