N’Koudou’s match winning assist showed that he should have been given more opportunities by manager Mauricio Pochettino before now.
Janssen is a player who Pochettino has shown no desire to play at all this season.
Fernando Llorente’s poor performance in place of injured striker Harry Kane was another reason for Pochettino to consider making a U-turn over Janssen.
Aside from his farcical own goal, Llorente offered very little.
Harry Kane is expected to be out for around two months and the Spaniard did not indicate he will be an effective replacement.
Unless Spurs go out and sign a striker, or play a youngster – not currently on the cards – calls for Janssen will grow louder.
