Tottenham Hotspur fans were told in midweek that they shouldn’t compare Fernando Llorente with Vincent Janssen.

Tottenham Hotspur fans have done exactly what Mauricio Pochettino didn’t want, by comparing Vincent Janssen to Fernando Llorente.
Llorente was brought on as a late substitute, during Tottenham’s match against West Brom yesterday, but the Spaniard struggled once again.
With Spurs drawing 1-1 with the Baggies, Llorente was unable to provide the spark to unlock Gary Megson’s side’s defence.
Llorente has now gone 15 games without scoring for Spurs since his summer move from Swansea City, and immediate comparisons have been drawn up with Janssen.

Janssen was brought to Spurs in 2016, but offloaded on loan to Fenerbahce last summer, after a terrible first season in English football.
Pochettino spent time in the week suggesting to Football.London how Llorente shouldn’t be compared to the Dutch international, but those comments appear to have fallen on deaf ears.
Tottenham fans simply couldn’t help drawing up comparisons between the goal-shy pair, with Janssen often being touted as the better option.
Tottenham’s draw with West Brom has left them 10 points behind league leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table, with Pochettino admitting that his side’s title hopes are over.
