Newcastle United target Stevan Jovetic is close to joining Monaco.

Newcastle United have been heavily linked with a move for Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic, but it seems he is moving to Monaco instead.
The 27-year-old, who spent the last season on loan with Sevilla, was understood to be hesitant over a potential return to England.

Rafael Benitez is a keen admirer of the player, and reportedly tried to sign the Montenegrin forward when he was the manager of Liverpool. As it stands, he is set to miss out on signing him again.
Monaco have identified Jovetic as a replacement for outbound star Kylian Mbappe. According to RMC, Jovetic is close to agreeing a permanent switch to the French champions and has undergone a medical already.
In fact, a picture of the forward in the Monaco kit has been leaked.
Newcastle United have made a stuttering start to their Premier League campaign, however they head into the international break on the back of a 3-0 win against West Ham on Saturday.
