Fabio Paratici loves James Garner as Tottenham Hotspur weigh up a move to sign the Manchester United midfielder this summer.
Tottenham have already signed one midfielder this summer with Yves Bissouma arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Bissouma will now compete with Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp in the Tottenham engine room, but there could still be another addition there.
Tottenham are in the market for English talent to help their homegrown quota problems, and they are now looking to raid Manchester United.
Fabio Paratici loves James Garner
Rumours emerged from The Athletic on Monday, suggesting that Tottenham were interested in signing United talent Garner.
That report noted that United would be willing to sell Garner for around £14million this summer.
Just hours later, The Sun’s Alan Nixon claimed that Tottenham have already submitted an opening offer for Garner, but it has not met United’s valuation.
Football London now offer a very interesting update, with Tottenham’s director of football Fabio Paratici seemingly a huge fan.
It’s stated that Paratici was impressed with Garner every time he went to watch Djed Spence in action.
The pair were on loan at Nottingham Forest together last season and helped Steve Cooper’s men win promotion from the Championship.
Whilst Spence was the focus of Paratici’s scouting missions, Garner seemingly caught his eye as well.
Garner, 21, seemingly isn’t in Erik ten Hag’s plans at United but is appreciated elsewhere.
Hailed as ‘obscene’ by former Forest teammate Jack Colback, Garner has bags of potential and could become a star of the future.
That’s what Tottenham and Paratici seemingly think, and whilst selling to a direct rival may be unlikely, Garner would surely fancy a move to Spurs.
Champions League football and the chance to play under Antonio Conte are not to be sniffed at, and if Paratici really pushes for this move, Garner could end up reuniting with Spence in North London.
