Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with two of the Championship’s most exciting talents.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a £50 million swoop for two of the Championship’s brightest talents, but there must be an argument to suggest that their money would be better off being invested in a superstar.

According to the London Evening Standard, Spurs want James Maddison from Norwich City, with the attacking midfielder valued at £20 million.

Tottenham are also keen on Ryan Sessegnon, but the Daily Mirror claim he is valued at £30 million by Fulham.

The pair are both seriously exciting talents, but investing £50 million on two players who are completely unproven at the top level would be a huge risk.

Tottenham may, therefore, be better off spending a fee like that on a more proven talent.

Spurs baulked at paying £40 million for Malcom from Bordeaux this month, according to the Independent, but he has at least shown that he can score goals in France’s top flight.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is also available for a fee of around £50 million, Bild suggest, and he is a striker who is one of the most feared in Europe.

And rather than taking an expensive punt on two Championship talents, Spurs may be better off spending their ample funds into one proven superstar.
