Emerson noted that he didn’t understand a lot of things being said in training because instructions were given to him in English in order to try and get him to learn.
Some interpreted the comments to be against then-manager Nuno rather than just about the language issues.
Emerson has now taken to Twitter to clarify his comments, stating that he never intended to criticise Nuno at all.
Nuno is an ‘incredible professional’ according to Emerson, adding that he helped him a lot in their short time together at Tottenham.
